ASX Listed Share Price Information

In the coming months we will be providing users on the site the ability to obtain free live share price quotes. The are many sites in Australia offering share price information but they all seem to provide it on a 20 minute delayed basis. This is due to the costs of providing this information. Our aim is to prove this information free of charge. The information we will be providing is as follows:

• Share Code -This is the unique code used by the Australian Securities Exchange to identify listed companies
• Bid Price -The price at which someone is prepared to buy shares.
• Offer Price -The price at which someone is prepared to sell shares at.
• Close Price -The last traded price of the shares at the most recent close of trading
• Open Price -The first traded price of the shares at the most recent start of a days trading.
• Volume -The number of shares traded on the current days trade.

ASX 200

S&P/ASX 200 is recognised as the investable benchmark in Australia. Index constituents are drawn from eligible companies listed on the Australian SSeurities Exchange (ASX). This index is designed to address investment managers' needs to benchmark against a portfolio characterized by sufficient size and liquidity. This index can be used as the basis for index products and trading tools such as mutual funds, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) and other index derivatives. S&P/ASX 200 is a component of the Australian indices that could be used as building blocks for portfolio construction.
